Miracles...
Day 26
"People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child - our own two eyes. All is a miracle." Thich Nhat Hanh

I was 21 when my niece was born. My sister had quite the journey to conceive, so the arrival of my niece was one that the entire family was excited and grateful for. A few of us also had the privilege to be in the delivery room. I don't think I knew what to expect when viewing her delivery, but once I saw her tiny head pop out, I remember being covered in an overwhelming feeling of awe. To this day, it is one of the most amazing experiences of my life. We were so blessed that day. My sister had a healthy birth, and she gifted us all with a child we truly love. On that day I became a believer in miracles.
Witnessing childbirth there was no other word i could truly use other than it being miraculous. The fact that two people can come together to conceive and then the female body can go throgh this process to give life, what else could it be? I was in awe of the perfection of how we are made and what we as humans can create, and how we often take that for granted that process.
Aside from childbirth, miracles happen everyday. There are miracles in the small details daily - catching all green lights on the drive home, randomly bumping into an old friend, or having a flight take off and land on time without a delay. The more we appreciate the small things, the more receptive we are to receiving the bigger things. Miracles remind you that there is hope. Miracles also remind you that there are things in life that may be unexplainable, and that life can unfold for you in a way that is perfect for your experience.
Once you believe miracles are possible, you can begin to cherish each moment of life and see the doors of possibilities open for you with ease and joy.
“And the more open your heart, the more miracles you’ll receive. For miracles occur naturally as expressions of love. When you choose to love, you choose to work miracles.” Marianne Williamson
